President Jonathan Levin

Jonathan Levin, a distinguished economist and former dean of the Graduate School of Business, serves as Stanford’s 13th president. Since he assumed the position in August 2024, Levin has articulated a vision of excellence, openness, and optimism. He has focused on strengthening Stanford’s culture of inquiry and advancing its research leadership in the era of data-driven discovery.

Provost Jenny Martinez

Jenny Martinez, a leading expert on international law and constitutional law and former dean of Stanford Law School, serves as Stanford’s provost – the chief academic and budgetary officer of the university. She assumed the position in October 2023 and has placed special emphasis on championing academic freedom and cultivating civil discourse on campus.

Faculty Senate

The Faculty Senate is the legislative body of the Academic Council and has responsibility for academic and research policy as well as the authority to grant degrees.
